Nirvana was an American alternative rock band formed in Seattle in the 1980s. Led by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl, Nirvana was one of the seminal groups of the grunge movement. Their iconic album "Nevermind", released in 1991, propelled the group to international prominence, thanks to songs like "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Despite a relatively short career due to the tragic death of Kurt Cobain in 1994, Nirvana left an indelible mark on rock music and remains a major influence for many contemporary artists.
