After a year 1973 marked by the success of The Dark Side Of TheMoon, creative doubt set in within Floyd. The group returned to the Abbey Road studios in the fall of 1973 but nothing concrete came out of these sessions. Despite everything, he returned to the road in 1974 and, in addition to playing the entirety of Dark Side, experimented with a piece, intended to be the backbone of their future album.
