The "Renaud" exhibition, of which the album is the official book, is not a simple biographical exhibition. It recounts the artist's universe through a visual as well as a musical landscape.
The work will, like the exhibition, be made up of four sections which are as many facets of the singer: Renaud the rebel, Renaud the poet-portraitist, Renaud the committed and of course Renaud the childhood lover.
Like the exhibition, the book will propose to alternate sections anchored in reality and more dreamlike sections which see the deployment of the imagination of the songs. A switch between real and imaginary, light side and dark side, will be present throughout the album, as well as humor, like Renaud.
On the text side, the book will be prefaced with the two curators of the exhibition, David Séchan, twin brother of Renaud, and Joanna Copans, specialist in the artist and author of a book on his songs. Each chapter will be accompanied by a text signed by Renaud's closest and best connoisseurs: Jack Lang, Bertrand de Labbey (his historical agent), François Bernheim ("discoverer" of the artist), Alain Rey, Riss of Charlie Hebdo, Jean -Pierre Bucolo (its historical composer), Titouan Lamazou, Daniel Colling (director of the Zénith de Paris, Printemps de Bourges, etc.), Helena Van Den Nest (Belgian fan of the 1st hour, creator of the 1st true and large site dedicated to Renaud "HLM of Renaud fans", Didier Varrod (journalist, author, close to Renaud) and Jean-Noël Tronc (CEO of Sacem, great admirer of the artist who awakened his political conscience during adolescence) .
Finally, rich in more than 200 iconographies, the book will include many unpublished personal archives, manuscripts, drawings and rare documents and photographs.
