Brittany, a land of traditions and captivating melodies, is adorned with its finest finery for the end-of-year celebrations. Christmas concerts are a unique opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable musical experience, mixing traditional songs and more modern repertoires.
REASONS TO PARTICIPATE IN BRETON MUSICAL FESTIVITIES
It is still a little early to give you precise information on the many musical festivities of Christmas and end of year in Brittany but we are already giving you the reasons to enjoy the concerts in Brittany at the end of 2024!
- A warm atmosphere: Churches, concert halls, Christmas markets and castles are transformed into havens of peace where the magic of Christmas and conviviality reign. And finally, musical festivities are a tradition in Brittany, historically referred to as fest-noz. This term means “night party” in Breton. These events are intended to reproduce the friendly festive gatherings of peasant society after days of collective work.
- A varied repertoire: From enchanting traditional Breton music to the sounds of instruments such as the biniou and the bombarde to more pop/rock music and Christmas carols, the range of possibilities is wide in this part of France.
- Talented artists: Choirs, vocal ensembles, orchestras... local and regional talents come together to offer you quality performances. Did you know that Etienne Daho, Broken Back or Christine and The Queens were artists from the West? Dan Ar Braz, Tri Yann or Alan Stivell are, for their part, essential figures of traditional Breton music.
- A discovery of heritage: Many concerts take place in places full of history, thus offering a complete immersion in Breton culture. Suspended moments are to be expected in Breton cathedrals. Rennes, Saint-Malo, Quimper... these emblematic places welcome choirs and orchestras every year for grandiose performances. On the other hand, many castles and abbeys organize classical music concerts, thus offering an enchanting interlude.

Carbonne, author of the summer hit Imagine, holds the streaming records in France for the summer. He is starting a tour and will give a concert in Rennes on December 12, 2024.
